 Huang Huahua

 

(1946- )

Huang Huahua, of the Han ethnic group, is a native from Xingning, Guangdong Province. He was born in Oct. 1946, and began work in September 1969 before joining the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Jun. 1971. He is a graduate of the on-the-job postgraduate program at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee.

In 1964, he majored in mathematics at Zhongshan University in Guangdong. After 1970, he worked with the Machinery Factory of the Guangdong Coal Mine, serving as deputy secretary of the workshop Party Branch. From 1978, he took up the post of secretary of the Communist Youth League of China (CYLC) Shaoguan Municipal Committee. He became deputy secretary of CYLC provincial committee in 1982. From 1985 to 1987, he served as secretary of CYLC provincial committee before he took the post as deputy secretary of the CPC Meixian Prefectural Committee.

From 1988, he held the posts of deputy secretary of Meizhou Municipal Party Committee and mayor of Meizhou. From 1992, he served as a standing committee member and secretary-general of the Guangdong Provincial Party Committee. He served as deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and secretary of the Guangzhou Municipal Party Committee in 1998.

In January 2002, he was elected into the CPC Central Committee and served as deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and executive vice governor of Guangdong.

In January 2003, he was elected as governor of Guangdong at the first session of the 10th Guangdong People’s Congress.
