General Wang Ke, of Han nationality, born in August 1931, native of Xiaoxian County, Anhui Province, joined Communist Party of China (CPC) in October, 1947, joined army in August, 1944, university graduate, general.

Joined Armed Working Team of Xiaoxian County, 1944; served as literacy teacher of East China Field Army of People's Liberation Army (PLA), 1945-49; Deputy Ppolitical Instructor of Regimental Training Team, 1949-52; Battalion Staff Officer, Battalion Chief of Artillery Force, 1952-56; Deputy Regimental Commander and concurrently Chief of Staff of Artillery Regiment of Chinese People's Volunteers, 1956-58; Director of Research Office of Beijing Artillery School, 1958-62; Deputy Director of Training Department of PLA Wuwei Artillery School, 1962-70.

Served as Deputy Division Commander, Division Commander and Political Commissar of Garrison Division of PLA Lanzhou Military Area Command, 1972-83; Commander of 21st army group, 1983-86; Deputy Commander of PLA Xinjiang Military Area Command, 1986-90; Deputy Commander of PLA Lanzhou Military Area Command and concurrently Commander of PLA Xinjiang Military Area Command, 1990-92; Commander of PLA Shenyang Military Area Command, 1992-95; member of CPC Military Commission and Director of General Logistics Department since 1995.

Member of 14th and 15th CPC Central Committees. He is also a former member of the Central Military Commission (CMC).
